Where To See Fourth of July Fireworks in North Alabama

Thursday, July 4

37th Annual 4th of July Celebration

  • When: 6 p.m.-11 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.
  • Where: Goosepond Colony Amphitheater, Scottsboro, AL
  • Cost: Free

This annual fireworks display is held at the Goosepond Amphitheater along Lake Guntersville but all shorelines that face South in the area have great views, so friends and families are encouraged to bring blankets, camp chairs, or lower the tailgate on the pickup and find a spot nearby to take in the show. Arrive early to enjoy concerts beginning at 6 p.m. and grab some dinner or snacks from a variety of food vendors. For more information click here!

Independence Day Celebration at Ditto Landing

  • Where: Ditto Landing, 293 Ditto Landing Rd., Huntsville, AL 35803

Star Spangled Fireworks in Fort Payne

  • Where: Fort Payne Sports Complex, 101 45th St. NE, Fort Payne, AL 35967
  • Cost: Free

Enjoy several star-spangled events offering a variety of wholesome family fun are on tap atop Lookout Mountain in celebration of Independence Day. The celebrations include free hot dogs, an ice cream social, live entertainment, parades and spectacular firework displays.

The Sand Mountain Potato Festival & Fireworks Show

  • When: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Where: Henagar Park, AL Highway 75
  • Cost: Free admission; $2 a vehicle for parking

The town of Henagar pays tribute to its potato farming heritage with a free festival on July 4. Now in its 37th year, the Sand Mountain Potato Festival offers a car show, arts and crafts fair, parade, live entertainment featuring local talent and children’s games and inflatables, along with a variety of food vendors featuring potato entrées and side dishes. Come out for the parade at 10 a.m. and enjoy fun all day until the fireworks at 8:30 p.m. Live entertainment will be provided by local artists including the Sharps Quartet, Ryan Watkins, Kathy Louvin and family, among others.

City of Madison Stars and Stripes Forever July 4th Celebration

  • When: 2-10 p.m.
  • Where: Dublin Memorial Park, 8324 Madison Pike, Madison, AL 35758
  • Cost: Free

To start off the fun, enjoy inflatable activities lined up all around soccer field #1.Children and adults of all ages can enjoy games, activities, lip sync battle, food vendors and live entertainment. Find your way through the 70-foot obstacle course, and when you get too hot, take a splash down the 62-foot water slide or sit underneath the giant tent in the shade. Parking for the event will be at Bob Jones High School with shuttle services provided by the City of Madison. Shuttle services will begin running at 1:45 p.m. with the last pick-up at 8:45 p.m. For more information click here!

Spirit of America Fireworks

Come out and enjoy the Spirit of America Festival held annually in Decatur, Al. The event features a patriotic bike parade, food and craft vendors and one of the largest free fireworks displays in North Alabama. For more information click here!

Bikes, Brews, & Fireworks

  • When: 5-9 p.m.
  • Where: Straight To Ale Brewery, 2610 Clinton Ave W, Huntsville, AL 35805
  • Cost: Free

Break out your bike and meet at Straight To Ale for an amber ale before you start the ride from the patio through Twickenham and Big Spring Park to the Veteran’s Memorial. From there you’ll head to OTBX for a beer, then return to Straight to Ale and reconvene in the Biergarten to watch the fireworks from the Space and Rocket Center. For more information click here!

Smith Lake Park Fireworks & Music Festival

  • Where: Smith Lake Park, 403 County Road 386, Cullman, AL 35057
  • Cost: $5 for park admission

The Smith Lake Park Fireworks and Music Festival is a day full of arts and crafts, food, live music and fireworks. Don’t miss the golf cart parade and other contests for the family. You can also play putt-putt in the newly updated putt-putt course, and the swimming pool will be open and renting kayaks, canoes and paddle boards! For more information click here!

Independence Day Events in DeSoto State Park
