With winter weather almost behind us (we hope!), it’s about time to start thinking about sunny spring fashions! We’ve broken down some of the biggest style trends hitting the runway so you can hit the stores and find ways to incorporate these spring styles into your own wardrobe.
Frills and Fairytale Dresses
From Marc Jacobs to Valentino, brands are fully embracing feminine ruffles with fanciful chiffon and tulle fabrics for 2019. In store, you’ll see lots of layers and frills for spring dresses and tops. Think childhood church dresses but all grown up!
Neon
The fall runways brought us back to the 80s, and it looks like that color palate is not going away anytime soon! Neons are all the rage for spring, but are done a little differently with some fruity hues like tangerine orange. Pantone calls this shade “tumeric” and predicts it will be one of the colors lighting up wardrobes this spring and summer. If you want to try this trend but don’t want to look too loud, try a neon on top while keeping the bottom (and accessories) neutral or vice versa.
Feathers and Fringe
It’s all about the embellishments this season! We have seen a ton of fringe bags from crossbody to shoulder bags, as well as clutches. Accessories are an easy way to hop in on the trend without the commitment of a full outfit. As for feathers, we love the look of a feathered hem on a light spring sweater; or take it up a notch with a feather vest! But again, if you’re not feeling that brave, you can always go for a simple feather statement necklace or earrings to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe.
Pretty in Beige
As a relief from the neon, we also saw designers trending toward a lot of earth tones this season. Designers like Burberry, Chloe and Jil Sander rocked the head-to-toe cream, khaki and sand looks in dresses, suiting and more. Earth tones are such versatile colors, so you really can’t go wrong with this trend no matter how you wear it!
Homespun Fabric
Look out for folksy elements in spring’s ready to wear style. Don’t miss the details like crochet, macrame-style appliqués and fishermen’s net. We’ve seen lots of knitted and knotted spring sweaters, as well as netting details on everything from athleisure clothing to formalwear.
Pastel Pop
Although not exactly groundbreaking for spring, our favorite Easter Egg-style pastels made the cut as key colors for spring 2019 fashion. You’ll see lots of baby blues, soft pinks, muted yellows and peaches. If it matches your ice cream, you’re probably right on trend!
