Reclaimed For Good Recognizes Social Worker Appreciation Month

The month of March is nationally recognized as Social Worker Appreciation Month. Through our charitable foundation, Reclaimed For Good, we at Unclaimed Baggage have the great privilege and honor of partnering with our local Department of Human Resources and its team of social workers to provide some of their most needed items. Most commonly, through Reclaimed For Good’s Love Luggage program, hard-sided suitcases are donated to provide foster children with their very own piece of luggage to replace the garbage bags many use to carry their belongings. We strive to meet additional needs as well. Jennifer Kritner, Vice President of Retail and Company Culture at Unclaimed Baggage, explains, “We are a phone call away to Social Workers at the Department of Human Resources, local hospitals, and school systems. We regularly get phone calls requesting help with apparel, shoes, and other essentials that clients and students need. We are always honored when they think of Unclaimed Baggage/Reclaimed For Good as a partner. We are happy to link arms with social workers to help meet the needs in our community.”

Doing the most good with the items we have is the mission of Reclaimed For Good. Investing in one’s local community and linking arms with community members is essential to any small town and allows this mission to be met. Reclaimed For Good Coordinator, Diane Wendlick, states, “Our passion for serving the community aligns with the support social workers offer the community. When we hear from our neighbors and our neighbors in need, we make every effort to respond to that need.”

In honor of Social Worker Appreciation Month, Reclaimed For Good treated local social workers to a much needed cup of coffee (or two) as well as other treats to enjoy. “Social workers have a high stress job that is essential to any community,” says Kritner. “Their job is often thankless. We wanted to show our appreciation to them and all they do to support children and individuals in need in our community. They are everyday heroes!”

We are so grateful for the important and courageous work social workers around the nation accomplish every single day. Take time to thank a social worker today!
