We caught up with Pastor Roger Mardis to chat about his church and our upcoming Men’s Conference with Dr. Steve Farrar. We hope you enjoy!
UBC: Tell us a little bit about your Church.
Pastor Mardis: I pastor Agape Baptist of Scottsboro, a church I started 18 years ago. Our purpose is to honor God by making obedient disciples. We propose to reach people of Northeast Alabama through the Word and Worship to reach the World.
UBC: Is this the first time you've heard Dr. Farrar speak?
Pastor Mardis: I first heard Steve speak at Promise Keepers about 25 years ago. We have also read/taught Point Man at Agape several years ago.
UBC: What are you hoping your men get out of this conference?
Pastor Mardis: I'm praying God will use this event in my life and the lives of our men. O how we need men to be men! Leading their family, church, community, and nation. Sadly, as the man goes, so goes many of our homes. People in general and men specifically are very apathetic today. Perhaps this will be a stimulus to awaken men and thus awaken the church.
